Information regarding haemorrhagic gastroenteritis in Norway
Since the end of August there have been a disturbingly large number of dogs affected with haemorrhagic gastroenteritis in Norway. More than twenty of the dogs have died. The numbers increased rapidly last week, and thus the veterinarian institute now works on detecting the source. So far, they have not identified the cause, and therefore they still cannot tell if this is contagious or not.
Because of this practically all dog events in the country were cancelled this weekend, and we are now awaiting the latest test results in order to decide if it is safe to go through with the ISPU show next weekend. We have decided to follow the recommendations of the Kennel Club, which also have an international show in Stavanger at the same time as the ISPU show. That decision should be announced Tuesday the 10th at the latest.
If it is not clear that this is not contagious the show will be cancelled, as we cannot play jeopardy with health issues. Either way, we will give you an update on Tuesday.
